Salisbury will look more sparkly from Friday (Nov 19) when the city’s Christmas lights will be switched on as part of a programme of events in the Market Place square.
From 4pm to 8pm, there will be reindeer, carol singers and other Christmas activities and performers. There will be a bar and food stalls until January 3, 2022 and Father Christmas will make appearances too, stopping at Santa’s Little Wonderland from Friday to Christmas Eve.
Here’s a highlight of some of the activities, music and theatre on offer:
Want to hear Monteverdi Vespers? Head to Salisbury Cathedral.
Fancy a play? Head to Salisbury Playhouse
Feel like taking in some jazz or long-nosed puppets? Head to the Salisbury Arts Centre
Go back in time to spend a day with udors,
If you want to knit your own Christmas baubles, head to Fisherton Mill
