Public transport links to Salisbury are excellent with frequent train services to and from Salisbury. There are excellent rail services to London, Southampton, Portsmouth, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter. Taxis from the station to College cost about £5 or £6.
The city also has an extensive bus network with five park & ride sites located at all the main routes into Salisbury.
Walking & Cycling
Sarum College is in the centre of Salisbury and is within a 15-minute walk of the rail station. Guests are welcome to park bicycles in bike shed at the rear of the college.
The High Street entrance is the only way to drive into The Close. Please use SP1 2PF in Satnav to avoid being directed to the pedestrian entrance.
Car parking at Sarum College is very limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis with one space reserved for disabled parking. Alternatively there is a small car park within the cathedral close, along with others in the city centre.
Bed and Breakfast bookings can be cancelled up to 48 hours before the scheduled check-in. Full payment will be taken at the time of booking. Payment is 100% refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of the 2pm check-in time on the day of arrival.
All bookings with an estimated value of £500 or more are considered provisional until the signed contract and non-refundable deposit is returned to Sarum College. While the booking is provisional, event organisers may cancel or amend bookings without charge and Sarum College reserves the right to remove or amend unconfirmed bookings.
Please see our terms and conditions for events cancelled or amended within three months of the start date.
If you have not received a confirmation number or a confirmation email, please check your spam or Junk inbox first and check for typos to make sure that you entered the correct email address. If you still can’t find your booking, then it is likely that your booking has not been processed.
Group bookings can’t be made in the same way as individual bookings on the Sarum Hospitality website. To make a group booking enquiry, please complete this online form and we’ll come back to follow up.
Sarum College has two types of mobile presentation screens available for use in our conference and meeting rooms.
Both screens offer multiple HDMI and USB ports to easily display your content. Used in conjunction with our web-streaming equipment, these displays can allow any remote participants to easily view any presentation and be seen in the room, helping to bridge the gap between in-person and remote attendees.
The Cavell Room is equipped with a built-in projector, as well as a hearing loop system. Laptops and portable digital projects are also available and there is wifi throughout the building.
Scroll through images at left to see the equipment in situ.
Please check in by 9pm on your arrival date. We are a small team and the desk is not staff through the night, though there is always a duty manager who can be contacted in case of emergency. Salisbury’s Cathedral Close gates close at 10:30pm. If you think you are going to arrive later than 9pm please talk to a member of our team who can help in exceptional circumstances.
Check out time is 9.30am. We are happy to store your luggage if you want to explore the area before you leave.
There are dozens of buzzing restaurants, pubs and bars beyond Salisbury Cathedral Close walls, just a few minutes’ walk away.
Salisbury’s Close has been locked at night since the medieval times so if you think you may be out past 10:30pm it’s best to borrow a key to open the Cathedral Close gates.
Just ask at Reception. There is a £10 deposit which is returned in full when you’re done with the key.
Sarum College has some parking spaces which are available on a first-come, first-served basis, although if we are able to do so, we are happy to reserve a car park space for those with limited mobility.
The College is well-served by public transport. Situated in Central Southern England, Salisbury is about 75 miles from Heathrow Airport and 90 miles southwest of London in the historic county of Wiltshire.
The rail station is a 15-minute walk / 5 minute drive from the College and offers regular, direct services to London, Southampton, Portsmouth, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter.
Guest rooms have a bed, lamps, storage space and tea/coffee making facilities. Guest rooms do not have a television but wifi service is available throughout the building.
Hairdryers and irons are available from reception.
We are happy to accommodate guide dogs and their owners but regret we are unable to accommodate pets more generally.
